Blackberry is offering 50% festive discount on Playbook in India for 2-3 days. Is it worth it?, do we need a blackberry phone to access mails? Please guide.

Crigga84, 26 Dec 2011I watched a 52 minute video and it used 12% of power.I watched 1hr 12mins vid and lost 14%,,if you want a tablet and love Blackberry why noy support Blackberry and buy one..Who has tested thousands of apps?? I just rather have 10-20 brilliant apps than 2million rubbish apps...Blackberry is the safest most secure way of mobile computing ever,no-one has hacked into a Blackberry..

ashish p, 20 Dec 2011guys..an offer at some cities in india promises BB 8520 Cur... more@Ashish, you can the curve with the playbook and use the EDGE network for web browsing. But ideally you should have a 3G network on your phone and then the web browsing speed on the playbook should be good enough for sane(read as acceptable) surfing.
The Playbook is being retailed at $199 in some stores in the US, you can check it at Bestbuy..it's only a matter of time, the prices are reduced for the playbook in India.

guys..an offer at some cities in india promises BB 8520 Curve FREE with this playbook at a price of about Rs.27,500 odd! my question being, how efficiently can i use the BIS service from this low end Curve 8520 phone over the playbook? also, do u think there wud be any catch coz this offer looks too gud to be true. And finaally, from 8520, can i upgrade to OS6 or mayb OS7 by any chance?

in my country there isn't many tablet options. so i am considering buying this, but i wonder if i will miss android and if the 7 inch is better than 10, do you think 7 inch tablet are better than 10?

Its a nice tab..but it never support any andriod or ant other market...Junk for Facebook and Youtube only...sold it for free....

jocol, 10 Dec 2011Can playbook open MS word, excel and pdf?yepp it can . uses document to go for reading and editing . edits word and excel . but presentations are read only . for pdf uses the powerfull Adobe reader inside . no need to install anything . these are all preinstalled .
