The fact that Mediatek processors does last a long time is not a myth. Yet, people praising snapdragon and Kirin, which ended up having connectivity issues.
My friend has a s20fe and it doesn't recognize Sim card anymore, while my older and crappy Samsung Galaxy grand prime plus powered by a Mediatek processor is still kicking and has no connectivity issues.
Snapdragon chips are designed to fail in one way or another

I had a Vivo x60 Pro for 2 and half years that just died a few days ago, whereeas now I'm keeping it up with my 7 year old Mi Note 3. The same happened with a friend's iPhone that died on him after 2 years of use...I guess that says a lot about budget phones VS high-end phones
