This phone is a total misunderstanding. I had 9800pro and it was ok.
On this model:
Battery: no fast charging, no wireless charging, battery lasts only 1 day,
Dispaly: dark and you can't see anything on it during the day,
very heavy, it can't be disassebled. The fingerprint reader hangs and very offen you have to use a code to unlock phone.
I regret that I bought it.

Just got it. Not happy with the size, but as a firefighter I needed a rugged phone. I guess that's the price I get to pay. This is my 3re BV ruggedized phone and I've been happy with the last two. I've taken them interior many times and they've put up with both the heat and abuse. I wish they would do OS updates but there you go. I'd rather sacrifice a $400 phone than a $1k phone working a structure fire or wildland fire. I didn't get the FLIR chip on this one but my old phone has it so I'll just use it for the FLIR and leave it on the truck charging. For the price I can't complain but I do wish it was the same size as my BV9900 Pro and not my laptop.

Even if this was $100, that's no flagship performance for the price. It might be good value, but not excellent, flagship specs for entry level money. Learn to make the difference

Value for money, essentially flagship performance for budget prices. Might make you look cheap. But only stupidly rich people should be buying the flagships.

These phones are outstanding value for money. For regular use I never have issues with lagging. I eventually managed to crack the screen at Christmas, but it still works fine.
The only issues with these phones are:
Size. They are massive, but this allows for ruggedness and bigger batteries.
2 lack of updates. I have not received a system update for three years. It doesn't matter. I haven't found anything this phone won't do. It means that when I update it I will have more pleasure from the newer Android version (or frustration, because it's different)
          3 I look like a cheapskate. This isn't a problem for me. I am

David 040882, 17 Jan 2024But how's their software/software support? Definitely ... moreIf by today's standard means phone getting bogged down by manufacturer updates, then I'd rather not have them updated at all and just have bootloader unlock option.
It might get worse despite 7 years of Samsung updates since some of them only sport 128Gb storage.

David 040882, 17 Jan 2024But how's their software/software support? Definitely ... moreYeah, phones from brands like Doogee, Blackview and Ulefone has very inconsistent and uncertain update schedule which is considered a downside for some and even a major reason to not buy anything from them.

To me, as long as the phone get security patches and stays stable, I'm okay. None of my current phones (Infinix Zero X Pro and a refurbished/second-hand Samsung Galaxy Note10) gets updates anymore and I plan to keep both for more years.

At least some brands don't care about that and do whatever they please. We can only hope other "big" brands does something similar for affordable prices, which I doubt they would do.

Back to topic, Blackview is doing very interesting devices lately. 5G connectivity and decent chipsets, tons of RAM and internal storage for the a quarter of price of many phones from the brands I mentioned above.
