darlotte, 20 Aug 2024It's not a bad phone but there's a few problems, ... moreAgree for the first and second part, but for the last part, that seems like BV's own issue. I'm not using a BV, but my Samsung with Unisoc T606 has no problem and quite stable with 5GHz WiFi.

It's not a bad phone but there's a few problems, probably linked to the usage of a Unisoc chip. Pros are very good battery life and general usage is done without any significant lag.
Cons -> Unisoc chips have always had quite bad GPS. They're getting better but it's no way as good as Mediatek. Expect to sometimes rely more on your old map reading skills than only the GPS. Camera is good but for some reason takes very cold and unappealing pictures. I need to edit them after or to rely on the "pro" mode to tweak the colors. I also have troubles with the 5ghz wifi after an update. Very unstable. So I have to rely on 2.4ghz. Otherwise everything works OK. I would not recommend it though. Go for a Mediatek chip phone instead.

Very happy with this phone. Great battery life.
I don't WANT NFC and I don't NEED 5G
I DO need plenty of storage.
Free protective cover and screen protector, + charger & separate USB cable all included.
At under £120, it suits me and seems very good value. Why pay £££hundreds?

uHenry, 23 May 2024I have been disappointed by the phone.
Pros:
1) Battery... moreAgree with the lag, no clue why it is so laggy. Also either closes my running apps or they are crashing.
Day one use, the most frustrating phone I have had from the start. Initial had a talkback program that refused to turn off, tapping requred either a single long tap or a double tap to just select the next button or any button, then a double to continue. Sometimes taps were registering something else, typing my email took a year as it had no clue what letters I was tapping. When I did manage to get in and finally get rid of that annoying talkback, logging into google did nothing to transfer data or apps. It just wouldn't do it. I really wanted to throw this phone as far as I could. I opted to do a factory reset and try again, it actually acted like a normal phone for round two. Had a data cable ready this time as well, but logging into google this round actually worked and my data transferred. After all of that finished, I decided to vent my frustrations and went running. Got the earbuds that came with it working too, those are very basic, no app, double taps for everything.
During my warmup I tried playing pokemon go, and that was crazy laggy, throwing a ball was way behind, awful experience. I had my youtube app running in the background as well to get in a running mindset. Turned on runkeeper, and away I went. Not even a half mile in, youtube stops running, app closed itself as it wasn't on the running apps list you see when you drag bottom to top. turned it back on and restarted my music. Less than two songs later, silence once more. App gone again, heck so is runkeeper. Saw a boulder up ahead, phone really needed a fitting end. But I held back. Closed out of any running apps I had previously, there were none as even pokemon go's tab was gone. One last time, tapped runkeeper, gladly still had my running data going though not likely accurate, and music again. Nothing else! 2 full songs later, guess what? Yea, gone. App is gone again. It can't possibly be this slow and bad, my ancient samsung s5 with a one hour battery life could do better. I had hit 1.5 miles and got too frustrated to keep going. Walked home with youtube running and the screen on to see if that changed anything, it didn't close itself. Got home and turned it off for a while, played other games, but I don't use anything very intense so pokemon go is the only truly laggy one. I have most everything on low settings anyway.
It shouldn't be this bad. Coming from a motorola stylus 5g 2021, this should be an upgrade, and it is a full downgrade. I remember getting emails from blackview a few years ago about their rugged reliable phones, and this is not at all what I expected.

I have been disappointed by the phone.
Pros:
1) Battery is great. I could use the phone for 3 days
2) Price is low
3) Blackview support is fast to reply
Cons:
1) The phone is somehow laggy
2) I couldn't make or receive calls. I can use 4G, go through the internet, receive messages but not receive calls. The SIM card works well with other phones (One plus, iPhone) but not with color 8... The support could not help me.
3) Unstable Wifi. I would observe sometimes some bitrate drops. Sometimes, the internet would simply stop working. I have several computers and a phone at home and it is the only device that does that.
4) Unstable Bluetooth. I tried to pair my garmin smartwatch with the phone. Sometime, the connexion would just stop and would not connect anymore. A fix is either to reboot the phone either to delete the pairing and pair again.
5) The GPS signal is highly inaccurate which makes it impossible to use google maps.
Overall I do not recommend to buy it.
