BLU Energy XL launched with 6-inch display, 5,000mAh battery

Miami-based smartphone manufacturer BLU has launched a new smartphone. Dubbed Energy XL, the device is powered by MediaTek 6753 chipset with octa-core 1.3GHz CPU and Mali-T720 GPU, and sports a 6-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The handset comes with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal memory, and packs in a mammoth 5,000mAh battery. In terms of camera, the phone features a 13MP/5MP combo. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, but will be updated to Marshmallow before the year ends. The device features a fingerprint sensor as well.

Color options include Solid Gold and White-Silver. As for price, the Energy XL carries a tag of $299.99. Measuring 160.9 x 81.2 x 8.4mm and weighing in at 208g, the device is only compatible with GSM carriers in the US, and is currently available for purchase from Amazon.

Be sure to take the update promise with a large grain of salt. I received my Blue Life One X in the first part of January this year with a promise of Marshmallow update around the end of first quarter. Well I, m still waiting.Must add I, m quite happ...

Which is why I said the parts may or may not come from the US. But of course, since most of the parts are manufactured in China, you can't do much.
