BLU Life 8 XL now available for $100 in US

The BLU Life 8 XL has received a price cut in US, where e-commerce giant Amazon is now selling it for $99.99, $30 lower than its usual price. Other retailers such as Best Buy and Newegg have the device listed at higher rates.

Specs-wise, the handset is powered a MT6592M SoC with octa-core Cortex-A7 processor, and sports a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display. It comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable internal memory, and packs in a 2,920 mAh battery. In terms of camera, the smartphone features an 8MP rear unit and a 2MP front shooter.

Although the Life 8 XL runs Android KitKat out-of-the-box, BLU had announced that the Android Lollipop update for the device will be rolled out before the end of the year.

Taking a usable ROM from an already working similar device and porting it is easier and cheaper than taking a ROM which hasn't been developed for the spec range and is used by a distant device (spec-wise). And KitKat is optimized for low-end devices ...

i wonder why companies invest time in an ancient android version for them promise an update to a date version... why not put the latest .....cut price.........
