(Keeping developer mode on in an entry level phone like this sort of slows it down a bit) so wouldn't that defeat the purpose? Or do you still think it's worth it?

Opinion: Competent little phone.
Honnestly expected this to be a dissappointment, but was pleasantly surprised it turned out to be a competent little phone. Considering it was a smartphone being marketed around $30USD, I was expecting a slow performer that could barely do the bare minimum. To my pleasant surprise, the phone operates smoothly, considering the amount of included google bloatware & google funtions, I would recomend you find lighter, less space heavy keyboard and gallery apps, since it only has 32GB of onboard storage. Utilizing a lite launcher [Nova] I found the View 2 more and more surprising. Albeit it's small 5.5in screen, it's still a reasonably sized device, main benefit is being able to reach across the screen with your thumb. The top and bottom bezels are large enough to make the phone physically a similiar size to previous gen mid-tier smartphones, being less than 7in in length & thinner than 4in wide, the View 2 fits in almost anyone's pocket comfortably. When I acquired the device, I didn't know much about BLU, but after owning the View 2 and doing some casual digging, I find a good amount of respect for BLU for offering price effective smartphones. Other low-tier prepaid smartphones are often slightly more exspensive with lower quality cameras, for examples the, [NOKIA C100] & [TCL A3] are usually about $40USD or more, but often put on sale. Unlike other BLU phones, you don't get the typical small gathering of accsessories that you get with other BLU phones, most notieably a shell case or glass screen protector, but this is afterall a prepaie phone usually going around for $30USD. Although the View 2 wasn't my primary for long, it gave me nostalgia in the form factor of my first smartphone [SAMSUNG Stardust], the View 2 has been surprisingly capable. With the ability to exceed your basic phone functions, it handles the YouTube App well along with light social media usage.
The biggest flaw I can justify as a design issue, is the speaker placement. Placed on the lower back of the device, this will result in poor audio assuming you hold the phone normally. Even if the sound isn't being absorbed or echoed into your hand, the placement of the speaker results in most of the sound going away from the user & might irritate nearby individuals as the user might need to increase the volume to hear the cheap speakers.
Overall, I have been pleased with my use of the BLU View 2. Better, but not great cameras, smooth processing & economically competetive price, the View 2 should be a great starter phone, decent substitute or a great economic option.

I used this phone for about 6 months during the first 2.5 months it was okay... After that it was trash It took about 30 seconds to place a call, Bad service and camera it is a good backup phone for $30

There seems to be an updated variant called BLU View 2 (2022) with upgraded specs, 3 GB RAM for instance. Adding that variation to the database would be nice.

Bad reception. My Friends UMX U696 gets 4 bars at my house. My BLU 2 gets 1 or 2 bars. WiFi on BLU is 1 or 2 bars less than the U969

Wow. Hard to believe a device released in 2020 doesn't support 5ghz networks. 2ghz networks are so saturated in apartment/condo settings, that I wouldn't be able to download much of anything. Thought I might be able to work around that with changing channel/band settings, but even on 2ghz, it gets stuck on "Obtaining IP Address". Apparently, it doesn't like you putting in WiFi password or using WPS setup, you have to scan QR code, and my older WiFi router doesn't have that. Returning.
