Bunch of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 camera and video samples

Sony Ericsson don't have an exact launch date for the XPERIA X10 just yet (we heard it will be in February), but what they do have is a whole bunch of camera and video samples straight out of the X10. And you can bet, we've got them all.

As you might already know, the XPERIA X10 (or maybe you prefer its nickname, Rachael) packs an 8 megapixel sharpshooter with autofocus and LED flash. It also comes with a large 4" capacitive touchscreen and a lightning fast CPU, namely the Snapdragon of Qualcomm.

Now, take a look at the image samples out of the X10 and don't forget that those have been shot with a pre-release unit (probably like the one we previewed a while ago) so don't be so picky and just enjoy them.

The photos certainly look great for a pre-production unit. The amount of resolved detail is pretty satisfying, although not as impressive as it was on the Sony Ericsson Aino. We are pretty pleased with color saturation as well.

The noise levels are pretty decent with chroma (colored) noise almost nowhere to be seen on these shots.

The first three shots were probably taken with a different metering mode enabled as the handset tried to retain as much detail as possible, resulting in a flat and unrealistic image. While it will give you more headroom in post-processing we are pretty certain that most of the users would prefer the punchier output, witnessed in the last couple of shots.

When it comes to the video recording, it is recorded in WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution at almost 30 fps (about 28fps to be exact). And here you can download the full resolution sample itself. Or of course, you can watch it uploaded as a YouTube video:

There is still no official information on the market launch of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 but according to this store the XPERIA X10 should show up in February 2010.
