Leaked cases reveal iPhone 14 Plus name instead of the expected Max
When Apple first introduced a larger iPhone it named it “Plus”, then in 2018 it switched over to “Max”. This is why everyone so far has been assuming that the new class of iPhone – a large model that isn’t a Pro – will be called “iPhone 14 Max”.
However, that may not be true. Leakster Tommy Boi discovered protective cases for an “iPhone 14 Plus”. You can view some of the options over here. Of course, this is a third-party case maker, so it doesn’t get a say in what Apple names its new phone.

Still, there’s no reason to randomly name the case using terminology that hasn’t been used since 2017 unless the case makers knows something we don’t. ESR isn’t alone in using the “Plus” name either, CASETiFY also briefly listed iPhone 14 cases including one for the 14 Plus.
Based on that the 2022 lineup will be as follows: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Tune in on September 7 for the official unveiling of the iPhone 14 series.
