Samsung Galaxy A5 looks the same as the compact Galaxy A3 and both share the design language behind the Galaxy Alpha. The entire Galaxy A lineup is built around a metal frame, thin profile and Super AMOLED screens.

The Galaxy A5, just like the rest, features the stylish metal chassis with tapered shiny edges. It's got a beautiful Super AMOLED screen, 5" big with a resolution of 720p. Currently, this is the biggest display in the A series, though the rumors suggest the upcoming Galaxy A7 will be a phablet with a 5.5" big screen.

The Galaxy A5 is really thin at 6.7mm and weighs just 123g. Yet it feels great in hand providing strong grip thanks to its matte rear plastic cover and those tapered edges completing the sides.

The front of the Galaxy A5 is pretty much a standard Galaxy affair though there is no premium tech as fingerprint security scanner as it was on the Galaxy Alpha.

There isn't a heart-rate monitor on the back either - it's just the 13MP ISOCELL camera sensor, the LED flash and the loudspeaker grille.

The 5.0" 720p AMOLED screen offers great contrast and colors, wide viewing angles and vivid images for great multimedia experience. Those type of screens are among the most preferred on the market and the A5's display will be on of its key selling points for sure.

The rear cover is non-removable and so is the embedded 2,300 mAh battery. The microSD and the nanoSIM beds are both on the right side of the Galaxy A5, easily ejectable with the help of small pins.

Samsung Galaxy A5 runs on Android KitKat OS skinned with company's proprietary TouchWiz UI. We like this combo and though it might come overwhelmed with features and apps, we still prefer it in favor of a stripped down Android OS.

The Galaxy A5 is available in Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver, Soft Pink, Light Blue, and Champagne Gold, and will set you back about €400.
