Huawei is nearing its announcement of the nova 5i Pro, which is a smartphone synonymous with the name Mate 30 Lite. Ahead of the phone’s release for the Chinese market, Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong has posted selfies from the nova 5i Pro’s 32MP front-facing camera.

We can’t really make a conclusion from the selfies posted, since they are compressed by Weibo’s algorithms and look very soft in detail. What we can conclude is the selfie camera appears to have strong low-light capabilities. That is, of course, if professional lights weren’t used to light Xiaotong’s complexion.

The 32MP camera will presumably create 8MP final images after pixel binning. As we learned from the TENAA filings along with the 32MP hole-punch selfie camera, the nova 5i Pro will have a quad-camera setup on the rear consisting of 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP cameras. Just below, is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The phone will also feature the latest entry-level CPU from Huawei - the HiSilicon Kirin 810. The phone will launch with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and feature up to 256GB of onboard storage. There’s a 6.26-inch display powered by a 3,900 mAh battery and support for 20W quick charging.

There is still no set release date for the nova 5i Pro. The phone is likely to launch in the Chinese market before reaching global markets with the “Mate 30 Lite” name.

Where is the quality detailed photos people are talking about ? I see very soft images , the detail seems to be lacking...I'd rather a slightly noisier image over aggressive noise reduction any day. You can always slightly soften images post sho...
