Deal? Galaxy View discounted to $350 at Best Buy

The 18.4 inch Galaxy View tablet was not exactly the most popular device. It was released last holiday season as a giant tablet focused on consuming video content. For a device of this size, it only had a 1080p resolution screen, 2GB of RAM, a 5,700mAH battery, and an Exynos 7580 CPU.

Unfortunately, these features didn’t justify the $550 price tag at launch, especially when you can buy an entry level TV for less than $200 and pair it with an HDMI stick for streaming all kinds of media.

The Samsung Galaxy View is now going for $349.99 at Best Buy. It was discounted just in time for Best Buy’s 50th anniversary sale, but it looks like the price didn’t go back up after the sale ended. It’s safe to say the Galaxy View’s discount is likely to last until Sunday (which is when Best Buy’s prices are updated store-wide and online).

Best Buy looks to be pretty well stocked on Galaxy Views right now, showing several stores in the New York City area to have at least one in stock. A tablet of this size is perhaps too large to be carrying around. By the time you reach 18 inches of anything, even laptops, it’s safe to assume a device of this size should stay put.

Surely, there are many useful applications for a touchscreen tablet of this size. Unfortunately, it seems like the end result caters to a niche that’s much too narrow for a massive manufacturer like Samsung.

We received the tablet as a gift. It is fine for watching videos and playing games. No stutter at all (Seven Knights) and the kickstand thing works pretty well. Kids fight over it all the time.

Regret buying this device especially at the full $550 price tag. TBH after 6months of use I wouldn't even recommend it at $350.
