December security update hitting Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge units in India as well

Himanshu, 16 December 2016

Samsung has started pushing out a new update to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones in India. Weighing in at around 270MB, the update brings along Android security fixes for the month of December.

There's currently no information on what other changes (if any) are included in the update.

This comes nearly a week after Galaxy S7 edge units in Australia started receiving the update. At that time, there were no reports of Australian Galaxy S7 receiving the update, but that's likely to have changed in the past week.

Coming back to the update in India, it may take some time before you see a notification on your device. If you feel impatient, you can manually check for the update by heading to your handset's Settings menu.

Well done! Android is in such sad state regards security and updates, that when a manufacturer does what should always be done it becomes news!
