Samsung wave is better, as the phone has better specs than this for a better price too.. never the less this phone is good

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2010how does one go about updating to 2.2If you are trying to upgrade to upgrade 2.2 you should go to MoNaCo forums, they have the best upgrade and downgrade guides around. Inside the MoDaCo forum there is a DellStreak section.

Hi to all Proud owners of Streak

i needed to know will i be able to type documents rich in format or to put it straight sumthing like MS Word.

I absolutely loved the size of the phone but there were so many misses, Froyo for one, camera was poor. The back cover, the excellent metallic one got scratched really easily and it was just too easy to shut the phone, the cover just had to be a little loose.
But I miss the big screen!

Bought one in chennai got it upgraded to 2.1. How to upgrade to 2.2 otherwise it's a Xellant piece

I have owned mobile phones for the past 10 years and like to change them every few months.

I own a streak and its the best device i have ever had.
The thing i hate about it is dell - Very poorely promoted and very late with software updates.

However i have 2.2 on it , thanks to steve in modaco and i love it even better.

Your review, at last. Better very late than never.
Felt it was a decent device. Some quirks..
When talking on the phone, quite often Dell's panel seems to dropdown, blocking any dialpad entry. Very irritating.
Also the touchscreen is prone to touch..even through my pocket sometimes.
The devices sometimes goes crazy. Starts to vibrate continuously;
Sometimes when moving out of gsm coverage, some process crashes with message copy to sd card etc., Waiting for the Froyo or will dare Stephen Hyde's build.

wish I knew if it isnt a free upgrade where are people downloading the software from? or is it being downloaded in a, shall we say very unofficial manner?!

be aware this device doesnt support flash out of the box unless you upgrade the software. I dont think the inability to work with n type wireless networks is a serious issue especially since very few home routers are compatable with the new standard anyway and probably not many hotspots that support it yet either. (in the uk at least)in any case your battery runs down quick enough using a standard wi-fi hotspot on any portable device so do you really want to make that even worse with an n type connection?

Dell streak update 2.1 Available
Iphone all icon shape sucks Not widget ( Android have widgets Animation weather Clouds and Live wallpaper)
Nokia Symbian sucks all N Series Models even N8 .Touch screen Bull shit Browser, Fonts ,Software Not Beauty.

I agree with HTC Desire / Nuxes / Legend / Best Camera Flash and Torch Best Amoled Screen .but one think HTC these Models big problem Low internal memory .user can't install more software .
by the way any user can Question .i will give awnser.

And to having a 1.6 Donut is very silly, Gingerbread is just coming out in couple of days and they are still on 1.6. not very professional. :(

I'm a proud owner of a Dell Streak and let me tell you this thing is amazing. Right after I bought it I rooted and installed Android 2.2 next you know BAMM this became the best devise I ever held on my hands. Extremely fast and responsive, I love the size and sharpness of the screen, and nearly all downfalls disappeared once you get to 2.2. I love the ADW launcher, much better than Dell crap UI. Flash support is a big plus it has make a huge difference on my browser experience. Everybody that sees this thing says is too big at first but after 5 min. of playing with it 80% of then loves it, Actually my wife and my coworker are getting one of these babies, I told them I will put 2.2 once they get it. After this I can no longer go back to the Iphone. Nuff said!

is dell streak better than samsung but the wifi not n series only g standerd

glaxy s has more better screen superamoled

not tft like dell

but is acceptable all software programs or not
