I have my own small tech consulting business.Got a Venue Pro from my girl friend for Christmas. So I have had a few weeks to play with it and get a feel for all the functions of the device. I love it! I have had some type of Blackberry for the last 4 years plus and used it extensively for work. The phone that the Venue Pro is replacing is a Blackberry Bold 9700. I use multiple e-mail accounts (some business and some personal), Google Voice account for work, and a Google apps account (think Microsoft exchange server but from google). All my accounts installed perfectly and options are very functional. My almost 400 contacts and calendar synced up natively. (I had to run a sync app from google to get this on my BlackBerry). The Dell hardware is very well put together and feels excellent in the hand. The speaker phone is superb and the voice dialing and texting works very well. The large bright AMOLED display is gorgeous pictures and text pop. (you really have to see the screen appreciate it) Multi-touch works very well and the typing on the screen works very well. (I am not a touch screen typest and wanted this phone dew to the slide out keybord, but I am teaching myself to type on the screen due to most phones not having keyboards) The qwerty keybord is not as good as blackberrys but it is very good. The camera is ok. It takes great pictures in good light but becomes quickly unusable in low light (also seems very slow). It is odd to me because video records rather well. Although the hardware is generally excellent (except for the camera) The real winner on this phone is Win Phone 7 mango (mine had mango pre-installed). The windows phone OS is excellent. I setup and support phones for a lot of my customers and have worked with all versions of the iPhone, and many variations of Android phones. Mango is straight forward and extremely well laid out. The phone is very quick even without a dual core processer which has to be attributed to a well put together OS. Overall the is an excellent phone. Couple of things to keep in mind…..this is a big heavy phone. I do not find it too big or too heavy but I can see this as a deal breaker for some.

one shortcoming which is holding me back from buying this phone is that the numerals are not arranged in calculator forms. it is so inconvenient to type numbers arranged in a row. will dell do something in next version.

I can't figure out why Dell doesn't come out with a second generation Venue Pro with all the bells and whistles plus LTE.

I bought this phone last, and I still can't get over it. Amazing phone, love mango interface..!!!
And by the way ,if u are buying this now ,it will already be updated by the company.
And if by any chance it isn't then there is a option in the settings of the phone, from where you can search for updates, and download it over Zune.

I hav heard that now MANGO (windows 7.5)update is available on it.
Does anybody know how to update it to Mango version?

Hey guys, i got my Dell Venue Pro 2 weeks ago and i love it, the speed and the interface in general are amazing. I do have a problem with the Newsroom app, it shows me an error message. How can i fix that? Thanks in advance.

good phone. What about video calling as there is no secondary camera? Definately I would like to have one if video calling is possible with it.

can you tell me about the connectivity on this phone, was configuring 3G easy on the phone or do you have to manually enter the settings? also many have complained the wi-fi connectivity has some issues. Overall how is the phone handling the mango update? and windows app store has less apps so can you suggest some good apps for us?
