Diamond2 arrives to O2 Germany unlocked, promises WinMo 6.5

20 May, 2009

O2 Germany released the XDA Diamond2, which as you can probably tell is a rebranded HTC Touch Diamond2. Actually, there's not much branding going on, the phone comes unlocked and there's an O2 logo on the back, that's about it.

In short, the Diamond2 is as feature rich as Windows Mobile phones go - a 3.2" WVGA screen, a top-notch 5 megapixel autofocus camera, speedy 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi and GPS goodness. And let's not forget the TouchFLO UI we're quite fond of. For a more in-depth look of the Diamond2, you should definitely check out our review.

As you probably know, the Diamond2 is one of those phones that are upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5. O2 promise the upgrade will be available free of charge as soon as Microsoft releases the OS and HTC is done adding their wonderful TouchFLO 3D interface to it.

You can snatch the XDA Diamond2 now (if you live in Germany that is) for 420 euro without a contract (remember it's unlocked) or for a price of (80/50 euro) with one of the 24-month plans, which start off at 25 euro.
