Its not mini sim its nano sim! No 2ff, but 4ff!!!!! Fortunately, it is no longer available, so I didn't waste much time with it!

Which is better: Energizer Hardcade H240S or Energizer Hardcade H280S?

This is the worst mobile phone I have ever had. No predictive text. Awkward method of adding name to text. Battery needs charging as much as the phone I replaced because the battery needed charging all the time after about 6 years of use. Avoid.

I received this handset 5pm yesterday and by 9pm the next day I have put it back in it's case. The tin and packaging it comes with is clever and smart; pity the phone doesn't qualify for the same tag.
              Issues?......
              * Have to go through all the menu items one by one, which is looking for email, is on the third page. Thankfully, you can hold the right side of the D-Pad and whiz through, but it still has to work its way through.
              * Wallpapers can only be selected from those pre-installed and they're not the most exciting offering. Phone comes with a micro-SD card port yet you can't select one of your pictures, alert, or ringer tones. That said - there is an extensive range built in. It surprises me that it has the SD slot but maybe this is intended solely for downloading documents/apps.
              * The keypad should be excellent, but it isn't. Keys are adequately spaced but have a distinct 'click' which gives sore fingers after awhile.
              * Ringer is loud as is speakerphone - even on lowest setting, but my first caller said it was hard to hear me and I sounded like I was in a tunnel. Holding the microphone close to mouth seemed to sort this problem.
              * Data entry and navigation is hideous to say the least. The keys lag and don't seem to know what they're doing. I asked the seller [purchased online - BIG mistake as I couldn't test it out first] whether handset had predictive text. They didn't know, so contacted the distributor and came back to me, saying even THEY didn't know. It DOESN'T have predictive text - which I could live with; however, there are only three entry mode selections - Capitals, all lower case, or 'digital,' which is used for number entry. Moving between them is slow and clumsy. Often I would go to multi-tap [say a B on the ABC key], and the handset would either skip the letter I wanted and give me the before it on the same key or [in the case of the example above], would repeatedly go rapidly abcabcabcabcabcabc scrolling through the letters in a loop until either another key was pressed or the delete/backspace key was pressed. At times, I would enter a letter or number and it would repeat one of the digits as if the key was stuck. For example - want to type gem30 - I would get gem30000000000000000000000000000000000 etc , and it would keep going until I hit another key or backspace.
              * Navigation around the screen is slow and painful - literally, re fingers getting sore, but also when there was no clear indication of where you were on the screen, and sometimes needed to press the D-Pad in often different directions or multiple times to move to where one wanted to be to continue using the handset. Also, when entering data in contacts field [for example], once finished I had to continuously press the ^ part of the D-Pad to get to the top of the screen in order to get to the save tab.

All in all this is one of the worst handsets I have ever owned - and I've had upwards of 140 different ones over many years. Build quality, feel of using in hand re comfort, extensive ring and alert tones, loud speaker and ringer, and multiple programs and features, I would give it 8/10.
But if you want a handset that is rugged - do what a previous reviewer said and go for a Sonim, Mann, or Cat handset. Otherwise, your money is best spent elsewhere.
Functionality of handset in performing ANYTHING without swearing at it - 3/10 - and that's NOT for the programs or use of keys and navigation, and I'm being generous even giving it that score.

Recommended? Save your money and get something cheaper and better.
Energizer would be best concentrating their efforts on what they are renowned for - batteries! This phone is surely not giving them accolades!

I have the Energiser Hardcase H240S now for 6 weeks. There is two options to select icons using the up/down/left/right buttons to hi-light the chosen icon or switch on an onscreen curser (like a computer curser) which is painfully slow, switches itself on automatically and the only way to switch it off is to re-boot the phone. If you want the battery to last the whole day then don't use the phone to make phone calls. I usually have the phone back on charge by 3 to 4 o clock in the day. Not much good if you accidentally stray away from a power outlet.
Typing a text is virtually impossible and if you have any regard for spelling or grammar you will need to put some time aside. Switching between caps and lower case is clumsy and slow. The keys are unresponsive and the reaction time is so slow it is just impossible to spell a single word without a mistake. The key stroke response time on the old brick phones from 20 years ago were so much better, hard to believe this could be an issue in 2018. The call register for dialed and missed calls is just frustrating to use as is the phone book. I have the WiFi hotspot set to stay on but that too turns itself off randomly.
It is a real pity a phone bought in 2018 is so far behind my first phone that was the size and weight of a kilo of sugar.

When using contacts search, the 1st keystroke displays a numeric, not a character. I have to erase it again and when press again it shows a character. Very difficult to use. I went to the dealer (Softlogic) very next day and they said it is the nature of this phone. Font size of contacts can not be changed. Very small letters. When dialing, 1 or 2 digits are missing because phone responds late. Have to check the number again before making call. Inconvenient to use. Only waste of money. Worth only without these errors. Suggest the manufacturer to send an update to correct them. Even basic feature phones work smarter than this.

What a bummer: NO touchscreen, NO playstore and NO ability (setting) to enable/allow installing apps (apk's) outside of the playstore. Entering the WiFi password with the quirky keyboard was a real horror. No Energizer, this is NOT the way to go.
I will probably return it later today for a refund.

For many people this is all they need.
A classic look, a rezistent phone, LTE and UMTS bands, an Android phone with buttons.
Who needs an IPhone anymore when you have such a cute phone.

quad core and 1gb ram is overkill for a phone. They should reduce these and save weight/size. 18mm thickness is too big
