Essential teases new color option for February 15
Essential has been working quietly in the background since its PH-1 launched during the summer. It has been updating the phone with new camera improvements and shooting features, offered an Oreo beta trial for participants, and even held frequent Reddit AMAs to keep customers well informed about any concerns or questions.
The company has recently resurfaced the news with an estimated 88,000 devices sold in the whole of 2017. Today, the company is ready to launch a new color option as per the teaser posted (and promoted) on Twitter this afternoon.

The tweet says “A new wave is coming”, a clear play on words where “wave” hints at the blue/green color that the company promised when it first announced the PH-1’s pre-orders. This color is appropriately called “Ocean Depths”, as per Essential’s original announcement.
The teaser shows a date of February 15, which is this Thursday. We’d imagine that the new color option would become available on this date, though it’s still possible that Essential would hold a pre-order period. All will be revealed on Thursday.
