Exclusive: This is the iQOO 12 design story

Less than 24 hours before the iQOO 12 launch in China, we’re bringing you a sneak peek at the design process that went into the upcoming flagship. Speed, functionality and elegance are the three cornerstones of the iQOO 12 design with each contour and detail on the phone being meticulously crafted to the company’s high standards.

The signature design detail on the iQOO 12 is its camera island inspired by ship portholes used on the hull of ships to let in light and air. It features eight subtle arcs and a 3D curved glass which undergoes a hot-bending process. The camera island is surrounded by a gray decorative ring with two layers of textured patterns.

iQOO 12’s Alpha Version showcased in black features novel fluorite AG back glass. The back cover underwent numerous precision processes lending it a balanced shimmer effect when viewed under different angles.

The iQOO 12 Legend Edition features enameled glass with the BMW M Motorsport signature tri-color pattern featuring a dotted textured design. All iQOO 12 models feature a metal frame with flat sides complementing the flat display panel. The total design cost process for the iQOO 12 series is valued at over INR 50 million ($600,910).

The iQOO 12 series will debut in China tomorrow while a separate launch in India is scheduled to take place on December 12.
