If people think Google and Samsung's seven-year software support is impressive, don't forget that Fairphone has beaten them a year earlier*. Remember, Fairphone supported the 2015 FP2 until February 2023. The only reason it stopped support is because Android 10 has gone EOL.

YouNaughtyMonsters, 07 Mar 2024Nearly three years on and it's still working perfectly... moreYes it's getting regular software updates and the stock android is a good feature. These phones from Fairphone are worth the extra money because of durability, repairability, regular software updates and long software support, the use of fair materials and no use of chinese servers.

Nearly three years on and it's still working perfectly, even after a few drops. Get regular software/security updates too, which is a massive step up from all the phones I previously owned — solid product; recommend.

I'm still using this phone daily and it is my main phone I use. I have iodéOS installed. I don't have any problems using the phone now in 2024.
I like that the phone's screen is smaller than newer phones. It's much more comfortable for me to use a phone with a screen no larger than six inches, and this phone has a screen less than six inches.

Still using Fairphone 3 as my daily driver, no issues whatsoever. It works relatively snappy for a almost 4 year old phone. This seems to be a thing many people worry about when they consider buying a Fairphone: Does it become unusable in a couple of years since it doesn't have the latest and greatest chipset? Not in my experince. And I will prolong its life by installing Ubuntu Touch on it when I finally decide to buy a new daily driver.

Having up to date software is something fairphone did well and is a big problem with most smartphone makers
However performance the processor ram storage and screen need to be flagship tier as strong as possible fairphone specs this smartphone very badly even for when it was new it will not age well at all so this smartphone will be obsolete sooner then a normal flagship
The thing that ages the worsted is always the speed of the smartphone the hardware specs

I really find it a shame that this third-gen model is not a flagship-tier smartphone unlike its predecessor, the Fairphone 2. That one has the same Snapdragon 801 chipset found in the still-popular OnePlus One and also the OnePlus X. I definitely wish to see Snapdragon 860 or 870 on the next fourth-gen Fairphone 4 iteration, that would be sweet.

great phone, shitty chipset. good for average use, games and heavier apps are a no-go. hoping fairphone 4 will adopt a better SoC.

It's hard to believe that there is a phone out there that allows you to upgrade the camera module. Definitely rooting Fairphone's effort for a sustainable smartphone with crazy longevity.
