FCC leaks photos of the Realme 6i - 48MP main camera, faster charging

The Realme 5i was only announced on January 6, but the company has already sent out the Realme 6i to be certified by the FCC, which promptly leaked details and photos of the new phone.

The handset, model name RMX2040, packs a 5,000mAh battery, which will charge at 18W, judging by photos of the charger. The older model has the same capacity, but charges at just 10W. The upgrades don’t include a switch to USB-C, however, the 6i still uses a microUSB (and keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack).

The photo isn’t particularly clear, but the main module on the quad-camera on the back features a 48MP sensor. That’s quite an upgrade over the 5i, which has a 12MP main camera on the back. The lenses of the lower two cameras seem pretty small, don’t be surprised if we’re looking at 2MP macro and depth sensor modules. The selfie camera is inside a teardrop notch, same as before.

The Realme 6i will run ColorOS 7.0, likely featuring the brand’s custom features. No word on the chipset yet.

The phone measures 164.4 x 75.x 9.0mm and weighs 195g. We don’t have info on the screen, but given that the phone’s dimensions match the 5i, we guess we’re in for another 6.52” 720p+ panel. Also note the White color (the 5i is available in Blue and Green only).

On the connectivity side there’s LTE (two SIM slots), Wi-Fi b/g/n (2.4GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0.

Besides the FCC, the Realme 6i has been certified by wireless authorities in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Russia. This gives us a pretty good picture of the launch markets for the phone.
