February security patch now rolling out to Pixel devices
Google has released the February security patch for its Pixel devices. You can either download the factory images from Google's website or simply download the OTA update from the device's settings.

The update on our Pixel 3 XL was about 135.7MB, which downloaded quickly enough, although the installation process does take quite a while.
The update is available for all Pixel devices, this includes Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL and the Pixel C.
There are no Pixel specific changes this time around. All the changes are generic to Android and should show up to other Android devices as well as and when they choose to get the February patch. It's mostly minor bug fixes so nothing to be excited about.

I have the 1st gen Pixel & Pixel XL ... The XL is daily driver. Not had any issue with battery drain. Other people may experienced it. Yeah, I guess you're right regarding security patch coming with bug fixes.
