First Meizu 21 sale ends in seconds, over 25,000 units sold

The Meizu 21 was announced last week, and just days later it arrived for sale in China. The smartphone maker that is part of automaker Geely reported on Weibo over CNY 100 million ($14M/€13М) in sales in the first second the sale was actually open. This means over 25,000 units were sold in an instant.

The Meizu 21 flagship was launched with two versions - CNY 3,399 ($480) for the 8/256 GB option and CNY3,999 ($565) for the 12/512 GB variant. Quick math reveals the company pushed anywhere between 25,000 and 29,000 units, although since we don’t know what option was more popular, we cannot have a definitive answer.

Meizu is owned by a car company so obvious one of its key features is the support of FlymeAuto - an in-car infotainment system compatible with any Meizu smartphone and the Lynk & Co 08 electric vehicle - surely the first of many cars; after all, Geely is also the owner of Volvo Cars, Smart, Polestar, and even Lotus.

Smartphone enthusiasts will appreciate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the 200 MP main camera and the 80W wired charging. There is no word whether the phone will make it outside of China at this point.
