Free Zune Pass for a year from Microsoft Stores in the US

06 February, 2012

Microsoft entered Apple's domain with the introduction of their self-branded stores cropping up across the US last year. The problem being that there still just aren't that many of them.

With plans to create a network of 75 stores nationwide before setting their sights further a field; despite their good intentions, they currently lack the reach to customers that their main rivals possess.

The current tally of 16 stores have however started offering a rather interesting exclusive promotional offer to drum up interest in Windows Phone devices, Microsoft's Zune service and by association the Microsoft Stores themselves.

Walk through the door at any Microsoft Store right now and you'll spot one of these signs (left). Microsoft are offering a years subscription to Zune free to any customers who purchase a Windows Phone in-store. Not bad, when you consider that a typical monthly cost for US subscribers is $9.99.

If you love the idea of unlimited access to the Zune marketplace, you'd better be quick, the offer runs out on Valentine's Day (February 14th).

Thanks to Shikhar for this one.
