Victor, 03 October 2016

It is already clear that BlackBerry's third Android phone is on the way. The DTEK 60 featured in a few leaks. But nothing came even close to BlackBerry's own blooper of accidentally publishing the device's full specs on its website.

The page in question, with the appendix "donotpublish" clearly visible in the url was taken down soon after. However, it is now back up, confirming the DTEK60's specs and "coming soon" status. Just to reiterate, it will feature a 5.5-inch QHD display with a pixel density of 534 ppi and just like its predecessor, no physical keyboard. However, what the phone will come with a BlackBerry Convenience Key. In terms of dimensions, we are looking at 153.9 mm x 75.4 mm x 7 mm with a weight of 165 grams.

Underneath the hood there is a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The camera setup consists of a f/2.0, 21MP main snapper with PDAF and 4K video recording capabilities and an 8MP, f/2.2, wide-angle selfie one. Of course, the device will boot Android, complete with BlackBerry's own set of security features and apps and will draw power from a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery. There is also a USB Type-C port with OTG support. Connectivity includes LTE Advanced with speeds up to 300 Mbps, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with GLONASS and BeiDou, NFC and dual-band, Wi-FI a/c. No FM radio though.
