iOS 12 update to bring depth control while taking a picture
Users running the iOS 12.1 beta 1 on their iPhone XS and XS Max devices discovered an option to control focus depth while taking a picture. On the currently available stable version of the OS, Apple has made the feature available only after the photo was taken.
Apple has confirmed that a future iOS update will bring the slider control directly to the camera app so you will have the option of previewing the background blur even before snapping the photo. However, the company didn't say exactly when and with which update the feature will be released but we guess it will be sooner than later - it's already working on the iOS 12.1 beta 1 after all.
One thing's for sure - the function will come to Apple's new iPhones before the end of 2018.
