Future Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip devices may feature new Ironflex tech
A trademark listing at the Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service filed by Samsung reveals a new tech coming to future Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip devices. Given the timing of the listing, it's probably safe to assume that the Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 coming this August will employ the so-called "Ironflex" tech.
Even though there's no description of the technology itself, the listing mentions a "foldable OLED display panel", which is not limited to smartphones but tablets, laptops and smart wearables. So it's safe to assume that it's about foldable screens.
And judging by the Ironflex moniker, it probably has something to do with the hinge and its durability. Many users are still reluctant to jump on the foldable bandwagon due to durability issues, so it seems like Samsung is tackling the issue with a new tech and a catchy new marketing name for it. We are yet to see what it's all about.
