Galaxy S9 update brings January security patches, better selfies

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S9, note that a new software update is headed your way. It includes the January 2019 security patch level, so you'll be current on that front.
But wait, that's not all. The update also improves the performance of the front-facing camera, as well as the brightness of faces when shooting in backlit conditions. Additionally, Samsung says the "overall stability of functions" has been improved.
As usual, the update will be rolling out in stages, so don't panic if you haven't yet received the notification. For now only the international version of the phone, with the model number G960F, seems to be getting the new software release.
