The problems with the Google contact sync makes me hate this machine. It's just useless to me... I wonder why GIONEE has refused to develop updates that could take care of this challenge....

I must warn you that the device is not compatible with the carriers in Nigeria. Numbers stored as 080.... Or 070... will appear with names when a call comes in, but the names will not show when text messages come, except those same numbers are saved in international format, that is +23480....

Thus whether you can flash an m6 custom room is unknown. Amigo OS is unique and not well tested compared to other Chinese smartphone OS.

There is another option you can use to download apps from Google Play Store. You still need to follow the steps below per previous threads to install a stable older version of google play services. Then you can log into your google account via the web portal. From there you can activate google play store icon. You can then enter the search field query to retrieve apps of interest and download and install them to the Gionee M2017.

I have reset it and upda... moreYou can use a Google installer from app China or apk mirror and install Google services for OS 6.01 as follows: Google services framework, account manager, contact sync calendar sync , Google play services then play store as oulined in an earlier post. However, do not attempt to download apps from Google play store because it will force Google play services to the most current version which is not compatible with this device.

I have reset it and update done successfully .
Its now on amigo 3.5.11 android 6.0.1.
so for installing google store need to install google service and google play store or also shall i install account manager, calender and contact sync??
Is a package of this apps in zip for download.??
Which versions works.

Try this reset to factory settings. Go to apk mirror or Google installer. Android 6.01 Google services framework. Account manager, calendar sync, contact sync , play serviced 10.2.98 440-xxxxxxxx, Google play store version 8.x or lower. Do not allow Google play service update. Set up account and sign , do not activate device manager functions for security for now. Remote location us OK. If you are concerned about se urity use two stage confirmation with your phone.

There are periodic interruption of google play services messages. The other google apps are working except street view and maps so far. This is mostly likely a signature or licensing issue and it is unlikely to be corrected by factory reset and loading the gapps services earlier version apps. There is no fix to restore this. In the mean time you will likely need to use other app stores. Attempting to log in through the web portal also generates an error message in play store. It is unclear if this will change as it is gionee's decision whether to renew licensing and genuine signatures for play store. This may be due to Gionee's plan to open a "G-store" to compete with google play store. http://www.teleanalysis.com/news/gionee-building-own-app-store-called-gstore-matching-google-play-24869. However, this is just speculation. Though not functioning do not remove google play store as it will block all google apps from working.

It could relate to location services error. If the update is for Amigo OS 3.513 I would refrain from installing as it may not support GMS. Here in the USA the current Amigo OS is 3.5.11. It supports google mobile services. You need to download version android version 6.01 : google services framework, google account manager, google contact sync, google calendar sync, then google play services version 440-xxxxxx, google play store. The easiest way to download is via apk mirror. Alternatively a google installer like go play google china or the xiaomi google installer. These are available from baidu or app china.
