Gionee Max arriving on August 25 with a big battery for under INR6,000

Gionee is set to unveil a new smartphone on August 25, dubbed Gionee Max. It will be sold through Flipkart in India, and the promo page set up by the Indian e-commerce giant on its website reveals the smartphone will sport a waterdrop notch display surrounded by thick bezels.

Large bezels are expected, though, since this is a budget smartphone that will be priced less than INR6,000 ($80/€65). And upon closer inspection of the phone's image, you can see the Gionee Max has a 3.5mm headphone jack located at the top.

The rest of the specifications of the Gionee Max are still a mystery, but the promo page suggests it will pack a big battery. How big? We'll find that out tomorrow.
