Maybe you should try this,to prolong battery life,
-Turn off data/Wi Fi/auto sync when not using
-Reduce brightness and screen brightness
-Remove weather widget and other unwanted widgets
from home screen
-Disable all the built in apps which you do not use
-Do not use Live wallpapers.
-Use a dark or a black background as wallpaper
(which will also give a better look to phone)
-Restrict background app in Developer options
-Try to reduce animation scale/off them
-And put your phone to charge before it reaches 40-30%

There is a built in application on the phone
named as "System Manager"
Open it,there you will see a button named
"App Manager".Click on it,then you will see another 4 options.,there you will see an option named "Default Settings"
Click on it and then you will see..
