Gone in 64 seconds: 30,000 OnePlus 2 units sold out

Peter, 04 August, 2015

Over a million people requested an invite to buy a OnePlus 2, though supplies are quite limited. The company put a small batch of 30,000 units up for sale and they ran out in just over a minute, 64 seconds to be exact.

The sales were done through OnePlus' online store in China. Chinese residents who missed Batch 1 will get another try in a week on August 11. It's not clear how many units will be in the second batch, but they probably won't last much more than a minute either. By the way, it seems that in China you don't need an invite, those are only for international customers.

The base OnePlus 2 costs CNY 2,000 ($320/€295), you have to splurge a bit more for a fancier back (+ CNY 100) and more still if you want the 4GB RAM/64GB storage option (+ CNY 400).

Still, you get a lot of bang for your buck - a dual-SIM phone with 5.5" 1080p screen, Snapdragon 810 chipset, 13MP/2160p camera and Android 5.1 Lollipop + Oxygen OS.
