Google apparently changes Pixel 10 launch date

Vlad, 04 June 2025

Yesterday a rumor surfaced saying Google would unveil the Pixel 10 family of smartphones on August 13, which incidentally is exactly the same date on which the Pixel 9 devices were announced last year.

Today there's a plot twist. Apparently, Google has changed its mind and decided to move the launch event to August 20, which is also when it will start taking pre-orders for the phones (presumably right after the event ends).

Then, the Pixel 10 series is rumored to start shipping on August 28, which is also the date of in-store availability. That is, of course, if this rumor turns out to be more accurate than the one from yesterday.

Either way, the Pixel 10 handsets are expected to feature the company's Tensor G5 chipset, the first one that will be made by TSMC and not Samsung, and that change will hopefully bring with it a massive performance and efficiency bump compared to its predecessors.

I am a Pixel fan, but I will buy this device more if they don't use their Tensor chip. Why? Tensor CPU & GPU is far behind Qualcom & Mediatek. Hard to accept it.
