Google Home and Google Home Mini launched in India

Prasad, 10 April 2018

Google has launched the Google Home and Google Home Mini products in India. This is the company's first foray into the Indian market with its voice assistant devices, a segment currently ruled by the Amazon Echo uncontested since it launched in December last year.

The Google Home devices are priced identical to competing Amazon Echo devices. The bigger Google Home is priced at INR 9999 ($153) and the smaller Google Home Mini is priced at INR 4999 ($69), same as the Echo and the Echo Dot, respectively. Google Home will be available in White only and the Home Mini in either Chalk or Charcoal.

The device is available online exclusively through Flipkart and offline via Reliance Digital, Croma, and Bajaj Electronics. A six-month Google Play Music subscription will be thrown in for free, and Flipkart customers will get a free JioFi Wireless Data Card, 10% cashback on HDFC Bank cards and 5% cashback on Axis Bank Buzz cards. Moreover, if you purchase before April 30, you also get 18 month subscription on Gaana for INR 1 and 12 month subscription on Saavn for INR 1.

Google India was kind enough to share a review unit with us. Let me know in the comments below if you're interested in knowing how the Google Home does in India, especially compared to the Amazon Echo.

Kindly ask Google India when they will launch Google Play Family Library in India. They are introducing home product but not enabling family sharing in India. Everyone would effeminately appreciate your review of Google Home device.
