Google Maps gains product listings ahead of holiday season

Google Maps is gaining a neat feature ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays – product listings from stores. This means you can search for products from select stores directly from the Google Maps search bar.

This browser does not support the video element.

The products will be updated with inventory listings so you know where and when to pick them up. Search results will display product listings for items like clothing and electronics similar to what you might find on Google Shopping.

Google Maps is also gaining an updated travel planner, which will help you avoid traffic and delays in transit systems. In addition, Maps will display up-to-date road reports for unplowed snow and blocked roads.

Users with electric vehicles powered by Google can now plan trips on their phone with charging stop details and send these planned trips directly to their car. Drivers in North America who will be hauling items can now add cargo dimensions and get trailer-friendly routes, avoiding low bridges and tunnels.

Good that now we don't have to go asking if this place is a real shop or butcher yard.
