Google Maps lets you and your friends vote on where to go
Deciding where to go to lunch as a group is one of the easier ways to lose an hour in arguing. Since you’re going to use Google Maps to navigate to wherever it is you decided on, why can’t the app step in earlier and help the group make up its mind? Well, as of this week it can.
Here’s how it works. You pick a few places from Search and share them with your friends (any messaging platform works). They can add places you didn’t think of (and delete places they really don’t like). Finally, everyone can vote thumbs up or down for each place.
Here’s a visual explanation of the three steps.
This new feature will be enabled by an update that will roll out later this week. It supports both the Android and the iOS version of the app.

Stop using Google and Google Maps. Use Here Maps instead for mapping. Use QWANT or SEARX for search.
