Offline Google Maps support rolling out for Wear OS watches

Google unveiled the Pixel Watch 3 a few days ago with offline Google Maps support, which is now rolling out for other Wear OS-running smartwatches.

Offline Google Maps lets users navigate with their smartwatch even when it doesn't have an active internet connection or is connected to a smartphone with internet connectivity.

This feature is available with beta version 11.140.0701.W of Google Maps for Wear OS on the Pixel Watch 2 and should expand to other Wear OS watches soon.

Once you've updated Google Maps to beta version 11.140.0701.W, you'll see a new "Offline maps" page above the "Settings" option. The watch app also automatically downloads a map of your area while syncing other offline areas from your connected smartphone.

Additionally, it syncs offline maps when the smartwatch is on Wi-Fi and charging and shows a slashed cloud icon next to the time on the map when you are offline.

Finally sick carry a map

Good news! It is feature I have been waiting. You shouldn't need it normally, but when you do, it is incredibly useful.
