This is the worst phone. Google customer service is the worst in the world. Too them 6 weeks to make the phone work and for all this time they kept my $700 and gave me the runaround.
I would stay very very far away from Google phones. Company should be investigated for the way they bully and mis-treat their customers.

Google offers you unlimited storage to Google photos when you buy this phone, so save the money and get 128gb as it's just enough for other stuff! (well, if you don't do them vigorously).

Lyndino, 11 May 2023I've had the Pixel 7 for awhile now and I'll say ... moreAnd don't forget that stupid motherboard design which was typical to the Galaxy s10 with the USB C soldered on it. I'm glad Samsung got back to the typical separate motherboard and modular sub board like on the s20. Pixels can be good but not so good if you have to replace a whole motherboard because you broke the charging port, not worth it. I'll stick with Samsung, oppo, vivo, anytime

Haxsterion, 14 May 2023The phone, at first glance, seems amazing; The pure Android... more🤣You've been probably using an iPhone too much for too long that you have forgotten how customization works in android phones. Go download Nova launcher and better yet, pay for Nova launcher prime and you'll be able to do whatever it is that you want with your widgets, homescreen, app drawer layout or gestures. (Yes, you can have an entirely blank home screen and fully customized gestures not just for navigation, but for everything else).
Not all buy Pixel phones for the 'pure' Google android experience. I actually prefer Samsung's OneUI experience because it is vastly more customizable with other features the Pixel phones can only dream of. But there's one thing the Pixel 7 series are truly excellent at and it's the only reason I bought it: The camera performance - the excellent GCam paired with a customized Exynos chip (Tensor) and camera hardware lens combo that produces the best low light photos BAR NONE. The Pixel 7/7Pro low light output is superior to the the best Apple can offer even with the Phone 14 pro max. And while there's not much quality difference among mobile phone cameras when using them in less challenging daytime situations, you will still recognize the Pixel 7/7 Pro from the rest because of its really realistic color tone with plenty of depth and subtle variations within a single hue, a consistently balanced exposure that's dead-center almost everytime and that 'trademark' Pixel look which is difficult to pinpoint but is something like a 'holographic', realistic rendering of an actual scene in its final photo output that doesn't look overly HDRsy and overcooked like in Vivo or Oppo flagships, or oversaturated and over sharpened like in Xiaomi or Samsung, or overly dark, yellowish skewed and noisy like in the iPhone 14 Pro Max's low light photos.

Haxsterion, 14 May 2023The phone, at first glance, seems amazing; The pure Android... moreAll your complaints about Google software (Youtube, Drive, etc) are universal changes to the apps, not changes to the versions installed on the phone.
Google Photos removed the unlimited storage of limited sources about 2 years ago. YouTube is currently changing their advertising policies to bypass ad-blockers. Google Drive removed their free upgrade offers about 4 years ago, with little warning and quiet or non-existent notifications.
Those are the apps I remember from your post. As for the total quiet or complete silence option (known in Android as "Do Not Disturb"), I have had to modify the quick links on my last 3 phones to return it to the quick links bar. Have you tried to edit the quick links? Click the pencil icon and look for the "Do Not Disturb" icon and drag it into the first 4 or 5 icon locations. You may then have to go into the Do Not Disturb settings to change them to silence all the alerts.

The phone, at first glance, seems amazing; The pure Android experience, flagship features at a fraction of the price. Anyone that buys a pixel generally is more interested in the software Google gives us than hardware boasts.
Though, once you start using it, you realize that a lot of it just copying off iPhones UX and shoving strange limitations down your throat. Very surprised as it used to be the complete opposite compared to other Android device manufacturers.
To name a few problems faced,
The pixel has disabled the option to move the date time widget on the main menu as well as the Google search bar. You cannot make an empty home screen.
There is no support or accomodation for 32 bit applications, and attempting to install them with give you a vague error saying it couldn't be installed.
You cannot manipulate the app drawer or hide apps.
You do not have the "total silence" button in the top menu.
The Google App, Google play store, YouTube app, all have an absurd amount of advertising shoved in your with no option to remove them; if you're using anything "Google" it will have ads.
The phone has certain camera settings that take ages to shoot with no apparent reason on why it takes so long.
Pixel's famous "unlimited storage" for videos and photos taken from the device has been silently removed. Not even a limited extra storage, you only get the standard 15GBs along with any Google account.
A lot of these are petty issues but the fact that a phone that used to pride in its immaculate user experience has been ruined with these strange rules and issues, and the phone feels far distant from what it was as envisioned to be.
All in all, a decent phone, but it has serious limitations that hinder the QoL with the phone.
