Tensor needs to improve about power efficiency more, cz it's clearly not on per with other latest chips.

Just in case you share the same concerns I had before getting this phone:

                        Battery:
When I searched on the internet about the battery life, I was worried I might run short. But so far, the battery life has been pretty decent.

Can push for 4-5h screen time and 14-16h without a charger (No 5G) on a work day. If I'm at home (Wifi only), I can push 8h screen time, 12h without charger and still have some left (30%). In both cases I have always-on display active all day.

It's not on the level of phones with bigger batteries and Snapdragon CPUs, but it's far from the worst I've gotten.

                        Heat:
Heat is not a concern on everyday usage, it does heat a bit if you push it, but nothing like my old galaxy s4 and s7 edge.

                        Notes:
I'm not a heavy user, I haven't tried recording for long periods nor have I tried gaming either. I have yet to try Android Auto, and also 5G as mentioned before.

juDz, 13 Dec 2024pixel 7 or samsung a55? which one is better to buy? for ... moreI would recommend Pixel 7 for light gaming, however Pixel 7 has got lower capacity battery. If you play games for 1-2 hours a day then go for pixel 7 if more than 2 hours then A55 is better.
If you care about extra features galaxy A55 doesn't hold to Pixel 7.
Here are pros and cons of both:
                            Pixel 7: Pros
                            1) Camera
                            2) Software
                            3 Haptics
                            Cons
                            1) battery is good but not for heavy gaming.
                            Galaxy A55; Pros:
                            1) Good Battery life for gaming
                            2) Good Camera
                            3) Great software
                            Cons:
                            1) Price
                            2) Not a true flagship, so IP 67, no wireless charging, inferior Haptics.

At that price it's hard to beat an all out former flagship. No need to worry about updates and battery life is good with no heating issues.
You can unlock the bootloader too, if you are into custom ROMs. Unlocking a Xiaomi device is bit tedious.
If you don't mind average cameras and bloatware then Xiaomi devices offer great value and specs for the price.

I see other phones being sold for better price and better spec (mostly redmi phones), and bootloader can be unlocked, which means I can flash a better rom and possibly have better user experience than on pixel.
Perhaps this phone has better camera, and good for recording videos.
Would be nice to hear some more opinion from people in similar situation.

Got my Pixel 7 for around $400 in 2024 in India. The specsheet doesn't sound that good, however this phone is well balanced with no gimmicks. It will get updated upto Android 18 now, the battery life is good for normal use.
The phone is not for gamers. For normal people it still provides a great value for what it is.
