Hi folks, hope you're doing well;)
I bought a brand new pixel 7 three days ago and I'm slowly trying it, it's on android 13. I'm liking it so far especially the video quality and stabilization but I noticed it gets hot after only 20 minutes of usage with data on. My question is: is it worth it to update to android 14, are there more advantages or less than android 13; battery life, camera quality and networking? I'm quite sceptical since some people on forums are even talking about downgrading after android 14.
I never had a heating issue on my Huawei mate 20 pro

I was thinking that they didn't have quality control issues. My older brother has pixel 5 and he had to change battery because it became swollen.
So I guess it still happens.

I would say pixel because of clean android.
I have pixel 7 and it's still smooth as when I bought it at launch. Maybe pixel 7a is a better choice sincerely it is smaller.

Good looking phone. But worst battery ever. Don't buy this phone if you hoping to have heavy works on your smartphone. And worst fingerprint sensor,it always trouble in rush moment to unlock your phone. I never buy a pixel again.

I now kinda regret buying this phone in white color.
Lemon grass seems cool now, when I was buying this phone when it came out it seemed horrible. Now my previous phone, samsung galaxy note 8(blue) looks better

i bought this phone brand new in March 2024 (a year after its release) and its the worst android experience i ever had. the reception of the phone is abysmal even when i switched carriers and the fingerprint unlock kept changing to PIN by its own along with some other weird software bugs. Needless to say i made all necessary software updates. My old samsung note20 was more trustworthy than this mess of a phone.

Many annoying bugs:
- slow and inaccurate fingerprint sensor
- retarded double-tap on back gesture: 10-20% success rate
- problems with wifi hotspot connection lag
- slow charging from empty battery
- stupid small font for battery percentage on always-on screen
- no support for Miracast - can't cast your screen to TV without Chromecast
