Anonymous, 11 May 2023sure there are a lot of advantages using wireless earphone/... morebut then again i never listen to music with my phone, always using DAP so headphone jack not really a big deal breaker for me.i prefer the phone to have it but if it's didn't i could somewhat tolerate it.but microsd expansion is a must otherwise it's just another e-waste. you can never have enough storage in this day and age, its not 240p era anymore, files whether you access it or you created it by using the camera in your phone could easily eat up your storage, and when you really need free storage and urgent, having microsd in your phone or laying around it's a lot convenience. and if you argue about speed and reliability of the microsd, then i suggest you try to buy a proper original microsd card not a cheap chinese clone knockoff or whatever.i've been using mine for 3-7 years, so far 0 problems, everything still works as intended. i have 4 of 64gb, 4 of 128gb, 2 of 256gb, and one of 512gb.

YUKI93, 11 May 2023SD cards never been optimized in terms of read and write sp... moreit's really hard to buy newer phones, less options. for currently still on production and still in business, there are only two options in the market for proper phones, sony and sharp. the rest pretty much e-waste

Adel J, 11 May 2023You got some point regarding areas where there is connectiv... moresure there are a lot of advantages using wireless earphone/headphone but then again you can't beat the audio quality of proper wired iem/headphones and a lot of options of drivers technology too. i don't mind using wireless earphones/headphones for watching movie or listening podcast. but music.no thanks.wired headphone/iem all the time

Adel J, 11 May 2023No need to pay hefty price tag for SD crap that has the rig... moreand accessing data that you already have is much easier with sdcard, you don't need internet connection and you can pretty much access it anytime and anywhere you want, no need to pay monthly fee too. external storage has become a lot cheaper, there is reason why physical media still around, just because there are streaming services anywhere and plenty of options doesn't mean all those streaming services have exactly the data you're looking for

YUKI93, 11 May 2023Lol, just because there is newer tech doesn't mean old... moreagreed, although I don't find lack of storage as that big of a deal, probably because I have a habit of storing everything on my computer with terabytes of storage while keeping my phone clean. The lack of a headphone jack is a big loss though, I currently own Pixel 3 and it doesn't have one, so I had to buy not one but three USB-C dacs for earbuds, car audio, and full-sized headphones at home so I won't have to forget to bring it with me all the time. Tbh I bought P3 only because it was an insanely good deal, I would have never bought a phone without a jack even for half the price now. I don't consider switching to bluetooth as a viable option because of its constant connectivity issues, inconsistent sound quality and latency, the high price of bluetooth receivers, and unreliability and expensiveness of bluetooth earbuds.

Form samples around the net the quality of pixel 7a is crappy. Out of focus photos, extremely bad corners, crappy soft phots (no detail, no sharpnees, lens aberration ecc)

Adel J, 11 May 2023No need to pay hefty price tag for SD crap that has the rig... morePeople who still believe in this "headphone jack and SD card are dead" nonsense? Sony used to do the same back with headphone jack back in 2018, even citing the rising trend of wireless audio gears. Guess what happened in 2020 when Sony launched the Xperia 1 ii? In case you forgot, Sony put it back. They could have just continued on not putting the headphone jack, but someone at Sony must realized that it was a huge mistake to do it.

128gb is simply not enough if its without sd card in 2023. 256gb is a must.

YUKI93, 11 May 2023Lol, just because there is newer tech doesn't mean old... moreThis is what most people, including the person you're replying to, still don't understand. New tech won't completely replace old tech until they both become even. Eventhough I use Sony earbuds and subscribe to Office 365, I still keep using my wired headphone and my microSD card because they still give me the easiest plug-and-play solution. There's nothing wrong with added hardware flexibility, but to say that wired tech is outdated or dead is strecthing too far into the fantasy world. We're still not there.

Adel J, 11 May 2023You got some point regarding areas where there is connectiv... moreI still use my Sony earbuds and still subscribing to Office 365 that has 1TB OneDrive storage, but even I can tell that they both don't replace my wired headphone and microSD card slot. I still love the fact that they both provide plug-and-play solution so that I don't have to worry about any additional setup.

One of the main reason I love the Pixel 6a is the price. 60Hz and no wireless charging might be a deal breaker to some people, but I can live that. But $150 price difference between it and the Pixel 6 is hard to ignore.
Now that the Pixel 7a is only $100 less than the Pixel 7, I'm not sure if buying this phone is a wise decision since you can get the Pixel 7 for the same price.

YUKI93, 11 May 2023SD cards never been optimized in terms of read and write sp... moreNo need to pay hefty price tag for SD crap that has the right R/W speed then lose it or have it broken for some reason.
Accessing cloud storage is much easier and available for me across all devices and safer in terms of not losing your data by losing it or running it corrupted.
Even if you deny it, both are dead my dear. Again, no need to waste your time expecting these dated specs to be back they'll never be.
Technology has become much easier, but some few still insist to struggle.

Adel J, 11 May 2023You got some point regarding areas where there is connectiv... moreSD cards never been optimized in terms of read and write speeds? That's your fault for using a cheap China clone. My genuine Kingston 512GB microSD card is two years old now, and it still has no problem getting 100MB/s of transfer speed. At one point, I think I managed to hit 150MB/s. Also, I can't see the point of spending $100 for 2x storage when I can spend half of that and get 4x storage. Heck, I can get a SanDisk 1TB microSD card for $100 and get 8x storage.
Don't expect to see either the headphone jack or the microSD card die at all. They never gone outdated in 2023, and they always will be in the future.
