It will be a great phone like my 6a. If the camera is only like in 6a and that one is more than good enough for normal user. I would be happy to buy a Google phone that is smaller 5,4' -5,9' - if it’s a bit thicker or heaver I don’t mine. Good Camera, waterproof, good batterie, 128GB min. storage and smaller size and I buy!

My only disappointment with the pixel series is the slow charging speed!!!
If they fixed that I would buy one in an instant (and install Graphene OS)

Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't mind not having an SD card slot, but for just 128GB storage, it simply is not enough and an SD card is necessary here.

I back up my laptop's and smartphone's files to cloud and to an external SSD. However, all of my smartphone's files (except apps) are stored into my microSD card. In the past, I've had two devices I've dropped and their screen cracked. If I didn't have my files on the SD card, I would most likely spend time trying to find a way to recover them, or I might not be able to recover them at all. I know how on new devices that don't have an SD card slot, you can do the exact same thing using cloud services. Just for me personally, using the SD card as the primary storage and the cloud as a backup, makes me feel very safe in case something goes wrong.
But to look at it from the other side, I don't think removing the SD slot gives the manufacturers a huge advantage in terms of reducing the weight or thickness of the device. Nevertheless, even if I am wrong. Shouldn't in this day and age, where technology has developed so much and by extension "old" technology has become cheaper, apps take up more space and we use our phones for work now, manufacturers should give at least 256GB of internal space of storage or more GB of cloud storage?

                                These are my thoughts.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Vicky , 17 Mar 2023It'll be a great phone. But I'm waiting for a rea... moreYeah, that would be great, but it's border line impossible to make such Android device. Not in this modern era where people are used to have large batteries because they're scrolling their Instagram's and TikTok's the whole day while browsing, taking pics, listening to Spotify and watching Youtube videos. Some of them even play very demanding games and some of them don't even have a computer or a laptop, so they do everything on a phone (!) So, no, not a chance for a smaller Android. Even Apple, whose really good with their optimising hardware and software gave up on 13 Mini and stop producing it. Why? Well, because there isn't much demand for them and they are very hard to build, harder then a big device which doesn't have problem with dissipation of heat because it has a larger body. Smaller device will get hot sooner then a bigger one and it has (obviously) a smaller battery.

The smallest Android devices of today are already having problems with cooling in such a small body, and heat is enemy number 1 in such a small device like a phone because it has impact on performance and battery. Now imagine if we had even smaller Android phone, for example in iPhone 13 Mini body. It would be a nightmare for companies to optimise it so it can last you whole day without any issues. All that trouble is just not worth it for companies, that's why every major phone brand gave up on those really "Mini" phones.

The smallest phones of today are all around 146mm of height and 70mm of width.
But that's actually pretty good as on phones with Android you have an option to do a gesture on screen so you can pull down your notification curtain from any place on your screen. There's no need to reach the top of the screen with your finger, you can do it from any position with gesture which is really helpful if you have a hard time to reach the top of your phone screen.

Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S23 and Asus 9 are the only Android compact phones out there on the market, so you can see for their prices in your country.
You can maybe put couple of others who are close to be a compact or have a strange screen ratio so it can give you a feel like you're holding a smaller device then it really is. I'm talking about Xperia line of phones, for example Xperia 10 IV which has 21:9 screen ration instead of usual 19.5:9 or 20:9 like all phones have, so that means it's a bit longer in height with 153mm, but shorter in width with 67mm.

Cheers and good luck finding a right phone size for you!

I'm missing the sd slot on phones too, especially since I have several devices runing the same 512GB sd memory card, but you can help yourself out if you have a computer with let's say 1 terabyte of storage which is pretty common these days.
