I have bought this phone in 12 oct 2024 , and after one month i feel some issues like bottom touch not works, and some time applications hang and also big issue of networks .
I am really frustrated by bought this phone .

I have used this phone since mid 2024. I really disliked the network reception, had to randomly reset the network for it to pick(this is when I was using data only without WiFi). The situation got more annoying when I travelled coz I would lose reception somewhere along the journey. Then the most annoying thing happened since March:a rogue pink line, as I write this, it has turned green. No support in my Country so no free screen replacement. I am thinking of going for OnePlus/Vivo or back to an iPhone

      Anonymous, 22 Mar 2025Never had it..pixel 8 purchase is a lottery.
I bought two phones and apu after a few months had green lines. And I have to fix them.
For warranty very important was the IEMI code! it is possible that not all batches are defective.

        I will share my experience.

The first impression was that the phone is very slippery, so I put armor on it and it became quite massive.

Now I will tell you about the further experience.
The phone was purchased in December 2023. I bought it on gsmarena.lt (in Lithuania). I bought two phones pixel 8.

The first phone showed a green, then a pink vertical bar after 6 months in June 2024. At first the bar appears sometimes, then it shines all the time and sometimes the screen is covered with noise and nothing is visible. I took the phone to the seller. My phone was sent to the UK. After a good month I received an updated phone (not mine). Now it is April 2025 and the phone is still working fine.

The second phone showed a line in October 2024. I also took the second phone to the seller. The seller sent the phone to the UK and after 6 weeks the phone came back (old, with a replaced screen - that's what I was told).

So far both phones are working, but they were with a factory defect!!!

I've been with Google since the pixel 3a phone, which was great - I really liked it, but I crashed it and had to upgrade the phone and it's very frustrating that Google sold phones with a defect! Two of the 2 phones were unusable, they had to be repaired after a few months.

got this phone brand new back in june of last year, its done me well. no issues at all, chip is a bit slow but thats what you get when you buy a phone with a tensor chip. only issue thats not really an issue is that theres alot of bugs on this (i have not yet updated to android 15)

Zero issues with this device. 2 day battery with average use. The 6.2" size is just perfect for my liking. Only dislike is the 50MP sensor of the camera which captures images at only 12MP. This was somewhat obscured by early online specs and advertising when this phone was entering the market. Since this phone uses the same chip-set they could have left this unlocked at the 50MP setting same as the 8 Pro. The pictures still look good with the Google post processing so it's something that can be overlooked in favour of everything else you get with this device.
Overall the phone has an excellent premium look and feel , IP68 water resistance, USB-3, always on display. 120hz OLED screen with adaptable refresh rates, respectable wired and wireless charging speeds, lots of long term updates for Android OS from Google. t's a good package really. I got mine via my carrier contract (on a limited time promo sale) for around $350 CAD. This is simply impossible to beat in this price bracket and what is being offered with this device. Even at around $600 price point this is still an excellent device with the spec sheet it offers.
So yeah it would rate it as "awesome" if it wasn't for the 12MP camera thing, and so it's "almost awesome" instead! I would still recommend considering this phone in 2025 since it's fully supported for updates until 2030!

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2024I've had a pretty awful experience with this phone. I ... moreDo your research better next time before buying anything "expenisve". You are not buying socks lol. Everybody should know what are the main pros and cons of the device before they buy .

It has barely anything to do with "Leica" branding.... Just using software alghorythms in different way and your own preference. You just got used to what Mate 20 Pro was producing and thats fine, but if you want to shoot pics without any filters like in 2019. then consider Xperia 1 VI.

In my country a lot of user reported severe issues with the display (dead pixels, green screen). I would avoid to buy this phone without official warranty.

You sounded like you are accusing me of being a "fanboy" or something. Perhaps, you need to be a bit more respectful and stick to what is the main subject.

I don't do gaming, streaming, vlogging, etc. Having a Pixel 8 and a Galaxy S23 previously i need something with similar or slightly bigger display, slightly better speaker output, better everyday performance and better battery life.
Based on what i've seen GSM Arena an Iphone 16 and a Pixel 9 offer most of what I want. AI is important to me but if it helps me with magic eraser or note taking or visual assistance i'm more than happy.

But since there's no competition among i-devices, you are pretty much stuck with what they give you.

Is it true that with iOS things such as log-ins, signing-ins, settings, app loading, etc. are much better, more faster and more optimized than an Android device thinking about the current iPhone 16 line-up and Pixel 9 series ?
