Vlad, 08 August 2023

Google's upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are only going to be announced in October, if history repeats itself and the company sticks to its usual timeline. Despite that, they've been leaking for months now.

As we get closer to the launch event, more minute details are starting to pour out. Today, a usually reliable source brings us information about the versions in which the two models will be sold.

The Pixel 8 will allegedly come with 128GB or 256GB of storage, which is exactly like its predecessor. Those hoping for a bump to 256GB for the entry-level model will be disappointed. The Pixel 8 will be available in three colorways, called Licorice, Peony, and Haze.

The larger Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, will have three storage versions. Added to the 128GB/256GB combo will be 512GB. It too will be offered in three colors, named Licorice, Porcelain, and Sky.

According to previous leaks and rumors, the Pixel 8 will be more expensive than the Pixel 7 was at launch ($650-$700 compared to $600). It will have a 6.17-inch 1080x2400 120 Hz display with an embedded ultrasonic fingerprint reader, a 50 MP main camera with a new Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor, the same 12 MP ultrawide and 11 MP selfie cameras as its predecessor, a 4,485 mAh battery with support for 24W wired and 12W wireless charging, and the next generation Tensor chipset at the helm of course.

The Pixel 8 Pro gets a 6.7-inch 1344x2992 120 Hz screen, the same chipset, the same new main camera, a new 64 MP ultrawide, as well as the same 48 MP telephoto and 11 MP selfie cameras from the Pixel 7 Pro.

I hoped the Pixel 8 will at least have the same camera as its big brother as I prefer small phones that fits into my pocket easily...I think its stupid making a phone with less options and "goodies" just because the screen is a bit smaller....

For this particular reason it will be my first Android flagship after years with iPhone because of the shitedge screens
