Google Pixel 8a leaks in CAD-based renders, looks like a Pixel 8
Google has just launched its latest flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, but of course there will be a third member in the family too - the more affordable, mid-range, Pixel 8a. This is expected to be released in the next few months, and today it's been leaked in all its glory in some CAD-based renders.
The design language is, very unsurprisingly, incredibly similar to what we've seen in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, down to the very rounded corners - as it should be, we might add, since all three of these devices share most of their name.
The camera 'visor' is there on the back, and the screen has more prominent bezels compared to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, betraying the 8a's lower price point. The Pixel 8a measures 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9 mm. That means it will be almost exactly the same size as its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, which comes in at 152 x 72.9 x 9 mm.
The 8a's screen size should thus be around the 6.1-inch mark, and as you can see there's a centered hole-punch for the selfie camera, along with two snappers on the back.
According to a benchmark run from August, the Pixel 8a will be running an underclocked version of the Tensor G3 chipset that is also at the helm of the other two Pixel 8s. The 8a will have 8GB of RAM and will of course run Android 14 from day one.
