Sin, 01 Jan 2025Why no snapdragon soc and small battery Too expensive as well I guess they wished to be as efficient as Apple device, but I don't think they are committed enough.
I'm not saying Apple is better (in fact, I don't like them, but they just got started early and did a lot of marketing).

out of the box this phone is giving me problems. there is a speaker and ring issues. i don't think it's an isolated issue either as there are a few threads about it online. you're not gonna hear much about it on youtube either (for obvious reasons {they own yt} ). i'm gonna get a replacement unit to see if i was just unlucky but it sux so far.

Good for you that you like it.
Unfortunately for here, it's too expensive and there are many other better valued phones with decent performance.

great phone, i've had pixel 9 pro for about 21 days and i've had no issues, battery life has been great, cameras are excellent, display is great, tensor g4 isn't as powerful as snapdragon 8 gen 3 or apple a18 but its fine for basically everything ive thrown at it, high end gaming might not be the best but i'm ok with slightly lowering the settings. i had an iphone 16 pro before this and i think this phone is better...(i got tired of ios bs lol)

Strange the pixel 9 has a higher AnTuTu score than the 9 pro.

Can anyone confirm that this gpu Rdna amd based, next iteration of this could possibly rival 8gen 4

But how funny are you to be using tiktok when you have concern about "privacy"?
Do you not know that the app will ask you to upload contact list every time you open it??

It's not a privacy ROM, but it's a security ROM.
Having google sandbox doesn't make you private, for example.
You need to sort out the difference between security and privacy.
If you like it fine, but I doubt that most people will find any use of GrapheneOS.

This phone has been my first experience with an android. I went from an iPhone 11 > iPhone 13 mini > P9P. I immediately threw GrapheneOS on it, because I like the idea of better privacy for minimal drawbacks. Really like that my phone is still covered under warranty despite that.

The battery life has definitely been a bump up from the iPhone 13 mini(could be better though), and the camera is hugely hugely better from a photo quality perspective, colors are whatever. Low light is pretty good, better than naked eye most of the time.

The one thing I'm not a fan of, is that it gets hot. During charging is one thing, I like the 30w charging even if thats considered slow for some people. But I dont like that apps like tiktok or camera apps cause the battery to reach over 40c.

Overall really happy with it. Would be perfect if it had a snapdragon processor like my dads oneplus 12.

I just did some research, and I think that the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL's selfie camera is a modified version of the Samsung ISOCELL GH1. It would make sense, in that the GH1's 43.7MP resolution would become 42MP after a crop to a simulated 1× zoom length. The autofocus is also the same, with regular PDAF on both, and the 1/2.65"-type size does make sense with the amount of space this uses compared to previous phones.

Maybe I'm wrong though, and maybe Google just decided a cropped Sony IMX858 was a better idea for whatever reason.
