The tap and hold to select an object or a person from a picture, to copy to another picture, was working fine on my Samsung, and on Oppo X8 Pro, but I wasn't able to do it on the Pixel 9 series I tried in a shop.
Am I missing something or do Pixel phones really not have this feature?

Larger screen make phone heavy. Why u no use tablet instead? 10 inch minimum. Big screen, big value. Good cooking board. I sell you purse for transport.

Actually, the main selling point of the 9 Pro is that AFAIK, has the best camera system on a phone that it is not huge.

What AI feature are you looking for? Because as far as I'm aware, I rarely find AI feature on phone being useful.
Ya know the AI thing is mostly marketing, but what they (especially companies like google, sam-scam and other Chinese ones) want is they wanna collect your data (in case AI connect to internet, but not with local AI).
Anyways, you can choose whatever you feel comfortable with and see how it goes then.

The only issue is the size. Their phones are large for my hands and needs. I'm happy waiting for the mythical 13T or 13 Mini or whatever the name will be.
Reason why i wanted a newer Pixel is because of the incremental upgrades...bigger/brighter screen, 12GB RAM and AI features which...let's face it...are useful.
And as mentioned my other choices are Xiaomi 15 and Galaxy S25 tho i'm leaning more towards the former.

I'm looking to replace my ageing Pixel 8. I know there are hundreds of reviews out there but is the Pixel 9 Pro worth the price for it's upgrades than the Pixel 9?
Or would a Pixel 9 suffice albeit "incremental" upgrades over the Pixel 8?
Or save money and get a Galaxy S24 256GB (w/ UFS 4.0) instead?

The S24+ is still very expensive for what it is in the Samsung Store. But the last time I checked they stopped selling that device and only the base S24 with only 25w charging and 8GB RAM. if the base S24 & S25 had at the very least 45w charging then I will buy one in a heartbeat. The Ultra lineup price is exorbitant. Besides, I prefer the size of a Pixel 8 or 9 or a Xiaomi 14/15 or even the Motorola Moto Edge 50 Neo with flat screens and not curved ones.

Pixel is a joke in its current state when even midrange devices have more powerful chipsets and overall better performance. It's a joke for heavy workloads. Only good thing about the pixel is the cameras and its ai which Samsung has a lot of now and more. It's a toss up with which is better at ai but Samsung is definitely more capable with the much better chip. Xiaomi has it's drawbacks with updates.
