Wear OS is very good. The interface is smooth, and you can do some really useful things for example run Home assistant as the assistant for voice control of all your smart appliances. Fitbit I could live without it doesn't even support Jump rope natively so I am mostly using Google fit which is free.
I would like it to be 10-20% bigger and use that space to include a bigger battery. It does charge quite quickly though.

I love my Pixel 2; even at the age of 70 I find it quite simple to use and I actually use quite a few of the functions available. The buttons are easy to find in the dark and to press. The screen is large enough for my tired eyes and easily bright enough to read, day or night. Obviously I would not be able to clearly make out some of the text/numbers which come with some of the more complicated extra screens available, but tbh I don't need to use all of the readouts that come with those busy screens. My one and only gripe is the battery, which I have to charge daily most days, with medium to heavy usage, but because of all the positive points, I am willing to put up with that. Yes, I would definitely recommend it for older folk, as long as they didn't have arthritic hands, which I luckily do not suffer from.

Circular screens are horrible, ... morethe circle screen is fine. Not only does it look better, but it feels better too, and there aren't very many downsides to it at all.
For typing, Gboard and voice typing are both extremely accurate, even on the small screen. For reading things, you can scroll, just like how you'd have to do on a square watch.
And for menus, you can't complain because they work fine; they were built specifically for round screens

When I found out that Google wouldn't repair Pixel watch 1 at all I decided to stay with my Pixel watch 1. I even went with Galaxy S23+ as my next phone. If my watch ends up breaking I am getting a Galaxy watch with wear OS on it. Not even having parts to fix a Pixel watch 1 at third party repair shops is crazy. I read that Google said to just buy another one. I almost went with an iPhone 15 because of the support with their products. I just changed a battery in my old XS and gave it to my Dad. I got it done at a Apple store.

With Galaxy Watches you need to have a Galaxy phone in order to actually get useful features.
