Google says YouTube's viewing time is up 60% compared to last year
Viewing time on YouTube in Q2, 2015 was up 60% compared to the same quarter last year. This was revealed by Google's CFO Ruth Porat during the company's second quarter earnings call.
That’s “the fastest growth rate we’ve seen in two years,” Porat noted. It was also revealed that the time spent watching YouTube videos on mobile has also doubled, with an average session now being over 40 minutes long.
If you aren't already aware, back in February this year, YouTube launched a new app for kids, dubbed YouTube Kids. And just last month, the company announced a new service called YouTube Gaming, which it says will become available "this summer."
