Google Translate update brings support for 60 more languages in Instant Camera translation

Michail, 11 July 2019

Google Translate for Android is getting a new update which is adding support for more languages to its Instant Camera translation feature. You will now be able to point your cameras and instantly translate Arabic, Hindi, Malay, Thai and Vietnamese among others. You can find the full list of supported languages here.

Another nifty feature is the ability to translate between any of the 100 supported languages whereas before you could only translate back to English.

In addition, the visual interface has been tweaked to offer a more refined experience with three modes including Instant, Scan and Import. Google also claims it improved the live translation feature which will now reduce errors by over 50%.

For now, the update is following a limited release schedule but it should reach more devices in the coming weeks.
