GoPro Max2 360 camera debuts with 8K resolution and replaceable lenses

GoPro has finally unveiled a successor to the Max 360 action camera called the Max2 360. The company also debuted a new Lit Hero compact action camera and the Fluid Pro AI multi-camera gimbal.

The new GoPro Max2 360 camera features a 1/2.3-inch sensor and can shoot 360 videos in up to 8K resolution at 30 fps. It supports 10-bit recording and GP-log. The camera can also take 29 MP photos in 360 format and offers Max HyperSmooth with 360 horizon lock stabilization.

One of its major highlights is the ability to easily replace the lenses in case of damage. Users can replace a cracked lens without using any tools. The GoPro Max2 360 features six microphones and supports Bluetooth audio.

Mounting options on the camera include the standard ¼-20 tripod mount, the built-in folding fingers found on all recent GoPros, and the new Magnetic latch system that debuted with the GoPro Hero 13 Black.

The GoPro Max2 360 weighs 195g, is waterproof up to 5m, and features built-in GPS. It also supports AI based object tracking, MotionFrame editing, as well as Cloud-based editing via the GoPro Quik app.

Alongside the 360 camera, GoPro announced a new Lit Hero action camera as well. It’s the successor to last year’s tiny Hero cam and now comes with a built-in light with three levels of brightness.

It supports 4K resolution video capture at up to 60 fps, 2x slo-mo videos, and 12 MP photos. The camera also has replaceable lenses, built-in fingers mount, standard ¼-20 thread mount, and magnetic mounting.

The GoPro Lit Hero features HyperSmooth video stabilization, two microphones, a built-in 1,225 mAh enduro battery, weighs 93g, and is waterproof up to 5m.

Lastly, the company also unveiled the Fluid Pro AI multi-camera gimbal that features AI Subject tracking and can be used with GoPro cameras, smartphones, and compact cameras weighing up to 400g.

The Fluid Pro AI gimbal comes with 3-axis stabilization, forward and rear-facing subject tracking, an integrated fill light, and is said to offer up to 18 hours of battery life.

The GoPro Max2 360 starts at $499.99 and is available for pre-order with deliveries set to start on September 30.

The new Lit Hero is priced at $269.99, whereas the Fluid Pro AI gimbal will cost you $229.99. Both will go on sale starting October 21.

Though OSMO 360 and X5 have larger sensors, Max 2 is still the highest resolution with 8K. I have GPH13 & DJO Osmo Action 5 Pro. The day time footages from GPH13 always beat my DAP5 & Go3(S) easily. That's because GoPro doesn't proc...
