Here’s what a Jet White iPhone 7 Plus could look like

Enrique, 27 December 2016

Early on in November, a report circulated the internet claiming that Apple was going to release a ‘Jet White’ color option (mid-cycle) for the iPhone to follow the wild success of the Jet Black iPhone 7 option.

That report was met with skepticism, as Apple is not the one to normally release new color options in the middle of its product cycle, a decision better left for the launch of Apple’s next iPhone in 2017.

In any case, if you wanted to see what a glossy-white iPhone would look like, you can just take a look at the following video clip.

Upon first glance, you’ll notice that the white shells being shown are not really from Apple with their missing, they could perhaps be either Chinese-made replacemnt shells sold on sites like Alibaba or they were painted white. There’s no way these paint jobs would ever leave the Foxconn factory.

As it stands, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is available in five colors: Silver, Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Jet Black. Maybe adding a “Pure White option would cause a shortage of the new color. And since many people didn’t seem to mind that the Jet Black option was officially prone to micro-scratching (due to its super glossy finish), perhaps a glossy white option would be enticing to customers.

But the reality is this: Apple is still having some difficulties meeting demand for five different color options on its portfolio, not to mention keeping stock of every color in every tier of memory for every carrier would require even more effort. Realistically, we don’t see Apple adding a glossy white option to the iPhone 7 during its product cycle.

Realistically, we could see a ‘Jet White’ (it’s never going to be called that) option replace the Silver option (or any other option) while a more far-fetched scenario would be that Apple indeed adds the a new White option to the other 5 color configurations.

I have a feeling Apple would be even as courageous as to get rid of the Rose Gold option in favor of a white one, do you think Apple would do this?
